Case study · eCommerce · Specialty coffee

Just Fresh Roasted, 2,011% traffic, 6,042% traffic value.

Thin content, fair branding, no real SEO structure. Specialty coffee is a ruthless niche, but that’s exactly what makes it rewarding. A tight focus on blog content and internal structure made the numbers compound fast.

Just Fresh Roasted coffee case study

The brief

Just Fresh Roasted is a specialty coffee eCommerce brand, single-origin beans, espresso blends, the whole hipster bean stack. Lovely product. Revenue mostly coming from returning customers and a small paid-social engine. Organic was almost invisible.

The category is crowded but the ceiling is high. People who drink serious coffee research. They read. They compare. That makes content SEO genuinely effective if you execute, and a waste of money if you don’t.

What I did

  • Blog-led content strategy: topical authority built around origin stories, brewing methods, grind guides, bean storage. Not fluff; buyer-relevant informational content that pre-sold the store.
  • Sitewide meta rewrite: every title and description reviewed and rewritten for click-through and keyword relevance.
  • Internal linking overhaul: hub pages for each product category, clean links between informational and commercial content. PageRank stopped leaking.
  • Technical fixes: indexation cleanup, image compression for speed, schema implementation (Product, Article, FAQ).

The outcome

Organic sessions climbed from a few dozen a month to 1,436 at the measurement point, a 2,011% lift. Ranking keywords grew 187%. But the value number is the one worth staring at: traffic value up more than 60×, to $2,027/month. Because the blog content supported the commercial pages instead of competing with them, a smaller traffic bump translated into a much bigger commercial outcome.

A small coffee store can absolutely compete with the big roasters online, but only if the SEO treats their blog and their shop as one system, not two.
